Who Sets Up GA4 and Server-Side Tracking in Pune?

Search for a GA4 or server-side tracking specialist based in Pune, and you'll mostly find national companies, generic "digital marketing agency" listings, or nobody at all. It's one of the least-served, most-needed pieces of the whole marketing stack — and it's the one I build first, before running a single ad for a client.

Here's what the setup actually involves, and how to tell if yours was done properly.

Why is this so hard to find locally?

Most agencies lead with what's visible: ads, SEO, social media. Tracking setup is invisible by nature — nobody sees a well-configured GA4 property the way they see a nice-looking Instagram grid. So it gets sold as an afterthought, if it's sold at all, and rarely by anyone specialising in it.

That's a problem, because tracking is the one piece that determines whether everything else can even be measured.

What does a proper GA4 + server-side tracking setup actually include?

  • A GA4 property configured around your actual business actions — purchases, lead form submits, WhatsApp clicks — marked as conversions, not left as generic events
  • Google Tag Manager set up cleanly, so new tracking doesn't require touching site code every time
  • Server-side tracking (Meta CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions) wired in, so a large share of what browser pixels now miss gets recovered
  • A dashboard that shows revenue tied to a source, not just traffic and impressions

A GA4 property that exists is not the same as a GA4 property that's actually configured. Most "set up already" tracking I've audited was neither.

How do you check if your own setup was done right?

  1. Fire a real test action. Submit your own form or make a small test purchase, and confirm it shows up in GA4's real-time view within minutes.
  2. Compare browser and server events. If you have CAPI or Enhanced Conversions live, the same action should register from both the browser and the server, with matching numbers — not just one or the other.
  3. Ask to see revenue by source, not just sessions. If nobody can show you which channel a rupee of revenue came from, in real terms, the setup isn't finished, whatever the invoice says.

What should this cost, and how should it be sold?

Treat it as a fixed-scope project with a clear deliverable, not an open-ended monthly retainer. You're paying for a system to exist correctly once, not for ongoing guesswork. If a quote won't separate "build the tracking" from "manage the ads," ask why.
